Rossi got a warm-up, Lorenzo back in the saddle

Valentino Rossi was the fastest in the warm-up before the race, while his teammate Jorge Lorenzo, who underwent surgery yesterday due to a broken collarbone.

Italian Rossi set the best lap of the 20-minute warm-up. With a lap time of 1: 35.803, he was a thousandth of a second faster than Marco Marquez, and the third fastest was Cal Crutchlow.

Lorenzo sat on the motorcycle mainly to assess how painful it would be to ride, but he still set some quick times in the first sector. After eleven laps, he recorded his eighth best time and was 0.715 seconds behind Rossi.
