Nico Rosberg was the fastest in the last free practice for the Malaysian Grand Prix. The German reached the top with a time of 1: 39.008, and his teammate Lewis Hamilton came closest to him, who was two tenths of a second behind. Once again, Kimi Raikkonen and Ferrari were in the company of the Mercedes racers in the top three, the current world champion Sebastian Vettel was fourth, and Nico Hulkenberg finished in the top five.
Daniel Ricciardo in second Red Bull was sixth and Fernando Alonso seventh. They were followed by Felipe Massa, Valtteri Bottas and Sergio Perez.
Romain Grosjean and Pastor Maldonado continued to find no suitable settings for their Lotus E22. The Frenchman described the behavior as a disaster.
