Rosberg isn’t sure the new tires fit Mercedes

Nico Rosberg believes that Mercedes will only find out on Sunday whether the new Pirelli tires suit them or not. Rosberg and his teammate Lewis Hamilton were the fastest in the first free practice, when the racers rode on medium-hard tires, but in the second, where the racers also used softer ones, Sebastian Vettel took the initiative. The Mercedes racers struggled with tire bubbling in the race simulations. “Overall, it’s a good day behind us, but the softer tires didn’t last very long,” Rosberg said. “Sunday will bring us the answer to the question of whether new tires help us or harm us. It’s interesting because the tires are different and we have to adapt to them. We need to change settings and things like that. At the same time, it is an opportunity to make progress compared to others if we are able to understand them more quickly.

We seem to be fast in one lap, and similarly on longer sets of laps. But things can change. A few tenths here and there and the starting line and the final result will be completely different. ”

Lewis Hamilton said he was bothered by the settings and not the tires in his second workout. "It was good. Nothing special. We changed a few things and went back a bit. We will go back and restore the old settings so that we will be in good shape tomorrow. I'm sure of that. In the second practice, we had some problems with the balance of the car, ”explained the former McLaren racer.
