Rosberg: Better form in races led to poorer qualifications

Nico Rosberg believes the improved form in the races has resulted in poorer qualifying results compared to the previous season, where he has set up three times faster qualifying laps in the last ten races than teammate Lewis Hamilton, although he has only managed to turn that into a win twice.

This year, the ratio between the two Mercedes racers is quite different, as Rosberg was only once out of ten qualifiers better than the current world champion. Despite starting the race from first place only in Spain, he has already secured three victories this year.

Asked about poorer performances in the qualifiers, the German said: “This is partly due to the fact that I worked on the race, with the desire to improve it, and I succeeded. I’m not entirely sure why there’s such a difference compared to last year, which is worrying. I emphasize, however, that I am preparing for another attack. The current situation is not something that would negatively affect me. That's right. As long as I race well, I don't care. ”
