Alex Rins is after race in Argentina acknowledged that in the future he has to drive more on the limit in qualifying, as this segment is supposed to be their weak point.

The Spaniard had a problem with setting a quick qualifying time all weekend, which meant dropping out of the first part of qualifying and, with sixteenth place, the worst starting position after the race in Aragon in 2017. Nevertheless, the story was completely different on Sunday. From the background, he quickly made his way forward and finally settled for fifth place.

"We had the same rhythm as in the fourth free practice, so below 1:40, that's all," said a Suzuki racer when asked how he managed to make such a comeback.

“Of course, next time we have to start from a better position if we want to fight for the highest places. Our qualifications need to be improved, the rest is fine. Above all, I have to drive more at the limit here. ”

He also added that the worse result on Saturday probably cost him a place on the podium for the winners, as he spent a lot of time behind Danilo Petrucci.

“In the end, I lost a lot of time behind Danilo, otherwise I could have approached Rossi and Dovizioso and struggled to get on the podium for the winners. As it turns out, our biggest problem is setting up one quick qualifying time, as Mir also had similar problems. This needs to be improved, as this makes the whole race more difficult for us. ”

Peace had a weekend to forget

While Rins managed to break through quickly, his teammate had much more trouble in the opening laps of his second MotoGP class race. The newcomer drove into the garages and resigned after a trip off the track, at the end due to tire problems.

“I am very disappointed. From the first lap I had a very bad grip, very bad feelings. The problems then escalated from round to round. By no means did I manage to set the time as I could in my first free practice. It's a pity, because we had the rhythm to be in the top ten, but unfortunately there was none of that. ”

"All we can do is figure out what exactly happened and fix the problem by next time."
