Red Bull will be no match for Ferrari on a dry track

Max Verstappen believes that Red Bull's cars will be no match for Ferrari's in the Hungarian Grand Prix if the track remains dry.

Carlos Sainz and Charles Leclerc set the fastest times of Friday's free practice with the cars of the Italian team, while Verstappen was just three tenths of a second behind Leclerc in the afternoon.

The weather forecast says that we could see a rainy race at the Hungaroring, which, according to the Dutchman, will at least give the Red Bull team some hope. "I think they are a bit ahead of us and we will have a hard time beating them," Verstappen said on Friday night. "We'll try to close the gap, but if the track stays dry we won't be able to compete with them, but in the rain we might have a chance."

As has happened several times before, Red Bull did not find the right balance between the fast and slow parts of the track. "It's a little more difficult here. Sometimes it's easier, sometimes it's harder, but now we have some work to do. "

Verstappen's team-mate Sergio Perez was nearly a second behind Leclerc on Friday after devoting practice to experimenting with the car's settings. “We spent the day testing a lot of different parts, trying to find the settings that would suit me. We have found a base, so I hope I can show better form on Saturday. I'm quite optimistic, although the Ferraris look fast. Maybe Saturday's rain will shuffle the cards, so I'm really looking forward to it," said the Mexican.
