The Red Bull Racing team is already looking for a new powertrain supplier for the 2015 season, after having quite a few problems with Renault at the beginning of this year. So at least claims Gian Carlo Minardi, the former owner of the Minardi team, now called Toro Rosso and owned by Austrian energy drink maker Red Bull. It was Toro Rosso who completed the fewest test kilometers of all the teams using Renault engines.

"Judging by the circulating data, the situation is much more worrying and more difficult to resolve than they admit," the 66-year-old Italian wrote on his website regarding official statements coming from Red Bull teams. "However, Red Bull seems to be interested in other engines in the 2015 season," added Minardi, who also learned that Renault is looking for and "buying" solutions to problems with its engines. “This has never happened before, as Renault rightly wanted to hide its technology. Doing so hints at the suspicion of structural problems with the engine, which cannot be resolved quickly.

I hope that the tests in Bahrain will show that I am wrong, ”Minardi added.
