Red Bull stopped testing

The team of current design champions, Red Bull Racing, finally stopped testing in Jerez after another fourth day full of problems. The Austrian team drove only 21 laps in all four days, and the installation of batteries and other components of the ERS system is causing them problems. Components that convert energy from exhaust gases into electricity cause the elements around them to overheat, and although they tried to find solutions after the first day, they were unable to solve the problem completely.

Red Bull tried to solve the problem of overheating with a cut-out vent, but that didn't help either.

The team's technical director, Adrian Newey, went home to the team factory yesterday, where he will try to install the components differently, which will not be an easy task. At Red Bull, they don't want to admit that water is running down their throats, but the fact is that they missed a third of the pre-season tests and are bloodily short of miles with the new car.

At Renault, they are confident that the team of the current champions will be able to solve the problem until the tests in Bahrain, which begin on 19 February.
