Yamaha has confirmed after the split with the RNF satellite team that Toprak Razgatlıoğlu will not get a chance in the MotoGP class next season.

The Turkish racer has recently been linked by many to the transition to the elite motorcycle class. The title of Superbike World Champion last season further fueled these rumors.

Razgatlıoğlu will test Yamaha's MotoGP motorcycle next month. A test that has been planned for some time as a reward for his success in the Superbike class. In addition, this is a great opportunity to test your competitiveness before possibly moving to the MotoGP class.

After the RNF team in Mugello announced that they are ending their partnership with Yamaha at the end of the season and will use Aprilia motorcycles in the future, Lin Jarvis confirmed that Yamaha will have only two motorcycles on the starting list in 2023. This closed the possibility of seeing Turk in the MotoGP race next season. Franco Morbidelli has already signed a contract for next season, and Quartararo is expected to do the same soon.

“The essence of the test was his desire to test a MotoGP class motorcycle. At the same time, it is also an award for his work and title last season, ”said Lin Jarvis for the official website of the Superbike Championship.

“The most important thing for him will be to enjoy the test and see what awaits him if he decides to take part in MotoGP in the future. Of course, the news that we will not have a satellite team in 2023 means that there is no room for it at the moment. ”

Nevertheless, the doors in the MotoGP class have not closed for him yet. He may be offered the opportunity in 2024.
