Croatian Auto Club Delta Sport announced that they unfortunately have to cancel the popular Kumrovec rally, as they failed to find a general sponsor of the event. The rally in Kumrovec was almost traditionally the first race of the season on Croatian soil.
"After three years of successfully organizing a rally in Kumrovec, we must announce with great sadness that the 4th Kumrovec Rally 2014 has been canceled," Delta Sport wrote in a statement intended for racers. “Despite the great desire and effort of the members of our club, who have been trying for the fourth year to find a general sponsor of the event that would allow us to run the race unanimously, we unanimously decided that the existence of a club that would be in great question because of everything larger debts in the case of this year's organization, ”added the organizers, who added that the events so far have been largely financed with their own funds.
In the end, they apologized to all sports fans, clubs, racers and spectators, who were invited to watch their second biggest project, the first Moslavina Rally.
