Raikkonen: Ferrari will catch up with Mercedes this season

Kimi Rikkonen sees no reason why Ferrari might not be able to catch up with Mercedes this season, or maybe even overtake it.

After Vettl's victory in Malaysia, they did not expect to be as competitive in the next race in China, but they were rarely more than a few seconds behind leaders Hamilton and Rosberg, despite the colder conditions more suited to Mercedes.

Asked if Ferrari could catch the Anglo-German pair, Raikkonen replied that he saw no reason why not.

"I think we have good plans since last year and we will only get better this year. All improvements also depend on others, but we all trust the work of our team. ”

The Finn is aware that this will not happen overnight, but he is pleased with the results Ferrari has achieved in the first three races of this season.

“It certainly shows that we are on the right track, but we need time. We can’t work miracles overnight. As Seb has already proved, we can win. But obviously it depends, one round can be good for one team and another can be a different story. ”
