At Ferrari, they say Kimi Raikkonen can be fully competitive with Fernando Alonso if they give him a chassis that fits his driving style.
Raikkonen finished his second free practice in Brazil in third place, just behind the Mercedes racers, while Fernando Alonso was only seventh fastest.
The Finn found himself in trouble this year, as Ferrari's F14 T race car does not suit him. Pat Fry, Ferrari's chief engineer, told Interlagos that they managed to make progress with the Finn after Friday's free practice. “We tested different settings of the car and Kimi found one that suits him better. We tested different things related to the front of the car. All the time we try to make the front part the one he likes better. This time we seem to be a bit closer and this is proof that he can be completely competitive if we give him a race car that gives him the feeling he needs, ”Fry explained.
