Commissioners in Abu Dhabi have found that the bottom of Kimi Raikkonen’s race car bends by more than 5 millimeters, which is against the rules. The same problem appeared in the Lotus garage already at the race in Hungary, namely at the Romain Grosjean race car.

The Finn reached the fifth time in the qualifications for tomorrow's race, but because the car is not in accordance with the rules, his time will be deleted and he will have to start the race from the beginning or from the pits.

The team's engineers presented evidence to the commissioners that the excessive bending of the bottom was due to a broken bracket, as in the case of Romain Grosjean's race car in Hungary, but the commissioners decided on a penalty because the team did not prevent a recurrence.
