Kimi Raikkonen says the car’s injury after the collision with McLarn racer Kevin Magnusen was known throughout the rest of the race for the Malaysian Grand Prix.

After a good start, Raikkonen broke through to sixth place, where he was overtaken by Magnussen from behind and hit him in the back right part of the car. Raikkonen had to drive almost the entire lap with a punctured tire. When he returned to the game, he was already almost a lap behind, but still climbed to 12th place.

“I am very disappointed with the outcome of the race, as I started very well. Then there was a collision with Magnussen and I had a damaged tire, which meant I had to make an additional stop, ”said Finec.

“This completely nullified all chances for a good end result. After the accident, the car behaved differently, as damage to the tire led to a loss of vacuum. I had some problems with the first tires and only after the last change did it get better, but by then it was too late. ”

“It’s hard to say how things would have gone without this problem, as the rivals were very fast, but maybe I could have ended up close to team-mate Fernando Alonso. It was a really bad day, but overall we became more successful. Now we need to focus on the positives of this week and start working to be better in Bahrain next week. ”
