Maverick Vinales was the fastest on Monday’s test day following Jerez’s race for the Spanish Grand Prix. The factory Yamaha racer set a time of 1: 36.879 after 101 laps, after his teammate Fabio Quartararo missed the tests due to health problems. Vinales was tempted by technique while running a marathon, so he had to stop on the track once. The engine of his M1 ran out of oil, so the test day was interrupted for a short time, as a result of which the Yamaha test program did not suffer any major damage.

Quartararo, who was left without a win in Sunday's race when he lost power in his right hand, returned home after the race to consult with doctors and decide on treatment for problems before the race for the French Grand Prix in Le Mans in two weeks.

The second and third times were achieved by Suzuki racer Alex Rins before the current world champion Joan Mir, who again tested the prototype unit for the 2022 season. Both he and Rins meanwhile tested the settings for the race in Le Mans.

Among the fastest five were Takaaki Nakagami, who tested a number of innovations for Honda, including a new aerodynamic armor, which was quite reminiscent of Yamaha, and Johann Zarco, who was faster than the Honda racer Polo on a Ducati. Espargaro, who recorded two more falls among the 89 laps taken.

Miguel Oliveira, Luca Marini, Franco Morbidelli and the new leader in scoring the World Cup, Francesco Bagnaia, finished the day in the top ten.

At the race in Jerez, Marc Marquez felt the consequences of Saturday's fall in the third free practice, but these did not disappear even on Monday, so the eight-time world champion drove only seven laps, and then ended the day with neck pain.
