Pirelli selected nominees to test rain tires

Pirelli has selected drivers who will be able to test rain tires at the small French racetrack Paul Ricard next week. Sebastian Vettel and Kimi Räikkönen from Ferrari, Daniel Ricciardo and Daniil Kvyat from Red Bull as well as Stoffel Vandoorne (substitute driver for McLaren) have been selected.

Drivers are only allowed to use old racing cars from the past two seasons, according to the rules of Formula 1, but this will be a good introduction to the official testing, which starts at the end of next month. Thus, these tests do not represent a great advantage for drivers, but it is a good opportunity to return to the old tracks after a long break and, of course, test what the only supplier of Pirelli tires has to offer for this season.
