Pedro Acosta was impressed by the raw speed of the MotoGP bike after his first test day.
The rookie in the MotoGP class, who will race next season on KTM's GasGas Tech3 team engine, was 1.2 seconds behind the best time of the day set by Maverick Vinales, but at the end of the day he was excited: “Super satisfied. I really enjoyed everything from the first photo shoot in the morning at nine until the fall at five in the afternoon. I saw how a MotoGP bike works, how carbon brakes behave, tires, and what the difference is between riding with a full or empty tank of fuel.
The engine is really fast. At first I rode without the height adjustment device to help me get used to the weight transfer, but with the device the ride was completely different again. I started driving at full speed, so that I was shaking with excitement on the exit of the corners and on the straights. It's a good day for me. The team helped me understand how to ride this motorcycle," he added.
