After the end of the second test day in Sepang, Joan Mir praised Suzuki's progress in this year's powertrain. The lag behind the Ducati in terms of final speed is thus expected to be significantly reduced.

Suzuki’s racers in Sepang were fast and constant in Sepang. Alex Rins finished last day as the fourth fastest. Peace on the other hand was twelfth, which is not supposed to reflect the true picture of motorcycle speed. Namely, he is supposed to take some into account when choosing tires. While most of the others have set their fast times with new tires, he is with the ones that are already a bit worn. As he pointed out at the end of the day, they carried out their test program almost completely according to the set plan.

“We did almost everything we planned. There are a few things left for the next test in Indonesia. Today, we focused primarily on understanding the potential of the powertrain. As for the electronics, everything worked very well. I was able to be fast, but I also had a very good rhythm. ”

“In the morning, we counted ourselves a bit when we wanted to set a fast time. We only have two sets of tires left. We slightly adjusted and combined different front and rear mixes. We are not here to set fast times, but I was satisfied with what we achieved. ”

Mir was thus very pleased after the end of the test, especially with the progress in the powertrain, which might have enabled him to fight for the title of world champion.

“I am very pleased with the progress. We may even have the best versatile motorcycle. We are fast both on a single lap and in race simulations. It will still be difficult against the Ducati, as it is practically impossible to overtake them on the plane. ”
