Abu Dhabi's Yas Marina Circuit hosted the first driverless Formula One race on the track on Sunday, and it showed.

Dallara Super Formula SF23 can be driven at a speed of up to 300 km/h, but since it is only the first racing kilometers, the racing cars did not reach the highest speeds at first. The whole thing looked tragicomic at times, as the racing cars stopped on the track for no apparent reason and thus completely confused the other racing cars. We also saw a racing car spin on the track, after which the AI could not find its way back to the track for a while, as well as a collision between two racing cars.

Around 10.000 spectators watched eight racing cars on the track over two days, and in the race, which was watched by around 600.000 spectators online, the team from the Technical University of Munich TUM won in the end.

After the victory, the German team intervened in the last lap, when the until then leading car of the Italian team UNIMORE suddenly slowed down and stopped on the track.

Spectators could also see a race between artificial intelligence and human talent. The TII team put their car on the track against the former F1 driver, Daniil Kvyat, who won the 45-minute race, but only with a lead of 10.38 seconds.
