Current world rally champion Sebastian Ogier warmed up at the Fafe sprint rally before the rally in Portugal. Ogier put on a spectacular show with his Polo R WRC on the 6.3-kilometer course and drove it in three minutes and 40 seconds. He was closely followed by Ott Tanak and third was Dani Sordo.

“It was simply a wonderful experience,” said Ogier, who attended the event in northern Portugal for the first time. “Portuguese fans are one of the best in the world. We wanted to thank them in our humble way by having the Portuguese flag on the back of the car. In some places, due to the large number of spectators, it was not possible to see the landscape around the track at all, which is simply amazing.

On top of that, the route is very demanding, and the jump is scary. Such an event is definitely a big bonus to the rally world. We will definitely be back next year, ”said the Volkswagen racer enthusiastically.
