Ogier came quite close to Latvala before the final stages

After 23 out of a total of 26 speed trials, a tense fight to the last meter promises to take place in Finland. As usual, the Volkswagen team is in the forefront, more precisely the local Jari-Matti Latvala and the leader in the overall standings Sebastian Ogier. The latter is only 3 seconds behind the Finn, who was struggling with brake problems. After a poor start for the Frenchman, he has had some good times in the last speed trials, and will try to make up for the minimal gap behind his teammate tomorrow.

He disappointed Robert Kubica again, who broke the car on Friday and will obviously also finish the race on the Finnish macadam without points, as he is currently lower than 40th place in the overall standings. Kris Meeke, a 35-year-old Briton, who was in second place for half of the race and is currently 32 seconds behind, is the closest follower of Ogier and Latvala.

As already mentioned, tomorrow, from nine o'clock onwards, an interesting outcome of this year's eighth race promises, when the home team will defend a 3-second advantage and fight to win in front of the home spectators.
