For the Nicoletti Racing Design team, the sixth race of the Jura Racing Cup season, which took place in Brno, Czech Republic, just a week after the MotoGP motorcycle spectacle. In Friday's endurance race Endurance, Simon Kuhar finished in third place, and on Saturday in SBK even higher. Simon started the race in ninth place, and after qualifying, his engine was plagued by electronics problems.
“We drove Friday’s first practice as planned, then decided to change the tires, which made it necessary to change all the engine and electronics settings,” Simon commented on the race. “Problems started to appear, which unfortunately we could not eliminate throughout the race weekend. Despite the problems, we decided to take part in the endurance race on Friday, where we took third place with a time of 2:08, ”Kuhar continued.
Colleagues from the Italian team also failed to help the NRD team. "They also couldn't solve our problems, and on Saturday our system for quick gear changes failed, which makes work on the engine much easier. Nevertheless, we drove all the trainings and the SBK race on Saturday, where we recorded a satisfactory time and a solid second place. Sunday's race was prevented by heavy rain, so we ended the race weekend early. We left Brno satisfied, but disappointed, but full of optimism for the future. ”
"The sixth race of the championship has been successfully completed and we are already focusing on the next race at the Hungarian Hungaroring," said team boss Sašo Nicoletti after the race, adding that his team will compete at the Hungaroring for the first time.
