Next week, Dorna will present the calendar of European MotoGP 2020 races, following the example of F1, which presented the calendar this week. The calendar will initially only contain races across Europe.

The season will feature 12 or 13 races across Europe. So far, the first two races in Jerez have been confirmed, and one race each in Brno and Austria. In addition to the above, there will be races in Aragon, Misano and Valencia. Barcelona and Le Mans have not yet been confirmed.

Carmelo Ezpeleta said they have developed a very good protocol by which teams must behave and a protocol of how some races will take place without spectators. The protocol was drawn up with various sports ministers.

Each racer will have a medical examination before each race at which the doctor will decide whether a coronavirus test is necessary. The paddock will require special care, as it will only contain certain personnel that are necessary for the smooth running of the race. Each team will need to be isolated from the other team. Teams will not be allowed to move anywhere other than in their garages and in the hotel where they are staying.

The measures will also depend on the country in which the race takes place. The total number of people is estimated at around 1300 per race. 40 people will be allowed for each factory team, 25 people for the semi-factory, 2 people for Moto20 and 3 people for Moto15.
