Kimi Raikkonen's manager, Steve Robertson, told the Finnish media that negotiations with the Red Bull team had proved unsuccessful, opening the door wide to the seat in the Red Bull race car to Daniel Ricciard.
Raikkonen and rival Toro Rossa have been the main candidates for the seat, which will remain vacant after the end of this season, when Mark Webber says goodbye to Formula One. Although the Finn was the biggest favorite for the Australian deputy, Robertson explained: "Negotiations with Red Bull have been unsuccessful and have already ended."
Ricciardo is expected to be confirmed as a Red Bull racer in Belgium, this weekend.
