The current world champion of the WTCC series, Yvan Muller, gave Citroen the second consecutive best starting position at the Hungarian Hungaroring.

With a time of 1: 48.727, he overtook the leader in the overall standings of this year's championship, Jose Mario Lopez in the second Citroen, by 0.034 seconds. The success of the French car manufacturer was complemented by Sebastien Loeb in third place.

“I’m happy to have finally opened the account of the best starting positions this season,” said Muller, who started the previous race in Paul Richard with the best starting position due to the penalties of his two teammates.

Citroen race cars are competing with an additional 60 kilograms of weights this weekend, which is expected to slow them down by about 0.8 seconds per lap.
