Fabio Quartararo brought Yamaha to Qatar for the second consecutive victory in just as many races this season at the Losail racetrack. The Frenchman overtook Jorge Martin four laps before the end of the race, leading from start to finish and celebrating his first win of the year. In the end, however, Pramac Ducati racers Johann Zarco and Jorge Martin won second and third place.

The race was spiced up by close showdowns for top spots, while the first 15 riders were separated by less than 9 seconds at the end of the race, and some hot blood was provided by Jack Miller and current world champion Joan Mir, who collided twice during the race. Despite the Commissioners' scrutiny, no penalties were imposed on either of them.
