Franco Morbidelli is despite a severe fall on third free practice obtained medical permission to perform in today’s qualifiers. The Petronas SRT racer threw into the air in the right thirteenth turn just before the last turn and landed very hard on the ground. At the same time, he needed the help of the medical service, which took him to the medical center for an examination. There, however, they found that there were no serious injuries so that the Italian racer would be able to continue the racing weekend normally.

It was the fall before the end of the third free practice that prevented him from being able to secure a place in the faster qualifying group. Before the fall, he was in fourth place and at the end slipped to thirteenth place. Meanwhile, his teammate Fabio Quartararo finished second.
