In private tests of the royal class in Texas, Austin, the fastest rookie of that class was Marc Marquez. He defeated teammate Dani Pedroso and factory Yamaha racer Jorg Lorenzo and Valentino Rossi. The Americas track has been experienced for the first time right now, and the track will also host a GP class race this year. Above all, the racers got used to and focused on the new five and a half kilometers long track, which caused them quite a few headaches, due to the reverse direction of the race and dirty asphalt. The young Spaniard Marquez left his colleagues behind for almost half a second.
As Marc said, they did very well on their first day in Austin. “It’s a fun track because there are no bumps on the track. There was no real grip at first, but the line was getting cleaner and things could be handled better. The first part of the track has many challenging parts. This is a physically very demanding part of the route where you have to use a lot of power to change direction quickly. This is definitely a key point on this racetrack. ”
