Jack Miller joked that he now understands how the other racers feel in the fight against the more powerful Ducati motorcycle. The Australian experienced this for the first time in Portimao.
Miller was one of the heroes of the first race weekend in Portugal on his debut for the KTM team, after setting the fastest time in the second free practice and then fighting for the top spots in both the sprint and main races.
Before the start of the race weekend in Argentina, he expressed his satisfaction with the potential of this year's KTM motorcycle.
"We have a very positive first weekend of the season behind us. At first we didn't know what to expect. We already took a big step forward on Friday compared to testing, and then built on that on Saturday and Sunday.”
One of the things the Australian realized last weekend was the power of the Ducati, especially at top speed itself. After spending five seasons on the Italian motorcycle, this time he saw its qualities from a different perspective.
"The race was very important for understanding my motorcycle and my competitors. Now I know why there is so much hype around Ducati power. It can get a little annoying when you're on the opposite side. I understand how it was in the past years for the other racers in the fight with me. We have to do our best to make the season as difficult as possible for Pecc."
