FIA commissioners summoned a Mercedes representative for questioning after the German team requested a re-examination of the incident between Max Verstappn and Lewis Hamilton at the Sao Paulo GP.

The FIA will hear on Thursday at 17pm local time, the day before the first trainings for the Qatar GP, why Mercedes thinks the commissioners should investigate the incident and perhaps decide to punish the Dutchman anyway.

During the race, the commissioners did not even examine the moves of the Red Bull racer, after watching the incident with only limited footage. They had a shot from Verstappn's car, which was directed towards the rear, and footage from Hamilton's car, from which they judged that examination and possible punishment was not necessary.

In the event that the commissioners consider the controversial overtaking, Verstappn faces the loss of starting places in the race in Qatar this weekend, or a time surcharge that he could send from second to third place in the race.
