Mercedes has already discussed team commands

Mercedes team boss Toto Wolff said he had already talked to his racers about the possible use of team commands. The German team used them occasionally in the 2013 season, most obviously at the race in Malaysia, where Rosberg was told not to overtake Lewis Hamilton in the fight for third place.

Judging by the winter tests, Mercedes is supposed to be at the very top among the teams, and this status was further supported by the first and second place in the second free practice.

“We talked about it because I think it’s important to clarify that,” Wolff said. “Both racers have known each other for a long time. Our teammates were already in karting, and last year in Malaysia they caught us unprepared and we don't want to experience that again.

We had a nice conversation. Not only are they very talented, but they are also very smart. They are very honest with each other. We've reworked some possible scenarios and I think we're ready. "
