Testing didn’t start the best for the McLaren team, as they had to sit in the garage on the first day. On their MP4-29 race car, there were problems with the electrical wiring and the team from Woking did not even do an installation drive.
"We have a difficult day behind us and not a very happy start to the development of our car," they wrote in a press release. “Like other teams, we encountered difficulties in preparing the car. Although we only successfully started this at our home factory in Woking, there were problems with the electrical wiring today. Because of this, we had to disassemble the car, inspect and reinstall some components. That's why we were forced to miss today's tests. "
McLarn will re-install key components of the car overnight, hoping that Jenson Button will be able to start the test program tomorrow morning.
