Marussia hopes to appear in their first race in Melbourne this season, and so they have announced Will Stevens as the first racer to compete in their race car. The team says their cars are in the “final stages of construction” and plan to be ready in time and transported to Australia.
Stevens was already working as Marussa’s racer at the end of last season, and last year he also got a chance to make his first appearance in the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix race when he drove with Caterham. Speaking about expectations for the current team he will be racing for, he said: “It’s exciting to watch everything come together after so much effort has been put in to keep the team going. This would not have been possible without the tremendous incredible support we received from the suppliers and, above all, the team members who are working hard to ensure readiness for the first race. But I also have to thank you for trusting me and I can't wait for the result of hard work to show in a good two weeks on the track. ”
