Marquez finished the first tests for 2016 at the top

Pedrosa was the third fastest in the end. He was 0.180 seconds slower than Marquez, followed by Maverick Vinales with Suzuki.

Newly baked world champion Jorge Lorenzo was the fastest racer on Yamaha with a fifth time. He was a good three tenths of a second behind the fastest.

Crutchlow was sixth at the end of the day, followed by Pol Espargaro, Bradley Smith, Aleix Espargaro and Andrea Dovizioso.

Valentino Rossi set only the twelfth time of the day. In the last hour of the 2016 Yamaha, he drove his fastest lap 1: 32.401, thus approaching Marquez in less than a second. Testing continues tomorrow.
