Robert Markič improved his personal best result by six seconds with his Peugeot 106 in the mountain speed race in Ilirska Bistrica with a time of 3: 06.78. After the race, he said he was happy with the result, despite setting a goal of around three minutes and five seconds. "The goal was around 3: 05.0 on slick tires, and the final result on" prints "was 3: 06.78," Markič wrote on Facebook. According to him, the time was achieved with a rather restrained ride, and he was also tempted by the bearing in the gearbox.

"If the gearbox hadn't" roared ", I would probably have set the time around 3:05, and on better tires a second lower!" Robert, who also competes in the rally, is already thinking about the race next season. “I was satisfied with the position of the car, but maybe the stabilizers are a little too soft for mountain speed racing. The brakes worked satisfactorily, we will only slightly absorb the distribution of the braking force, the rest is fine. Plans for next year are a kit-car engine, a redesigned chassis, decent tires and a little more courage, especially over the chicanes. That should be enough for less than three minutes, which is also the goal for next year, "Markič added.
