Lotus has confirmed that they will continue to work with Pastor Maldonado, who joined them at the start of the 2016 season, in the 2014 season.
“The feeling when the team announced me as a racer next season is great,” Maldonado said after the last race in Singapore. “There was a lot of speculation about the future, but I stayed focused on my work on the track, and at the same time it’s good to know that my sequel has been confirmed. This year has prepared some challenges for us, but the quality of the team is obvious. I really feel like part of the family and look forward to building on better results in 2016. ”
Gerard Lopez, head of the team, commented: “It is positive for us to be able to say publicly that Maldonado is staying with us. All members can attest to how good it is to work with him and to be aware of what performances he is capable of on the track. With the contract, we upgrade our trust in him. I hope that in the future they will be able to give some more positive information about the future of the team. ”
It is not yet known who will drive next to the Venezuelan. His current team-mate Romain Grosjen recently said he had made up his mind, but has not yet revealed the plans to the public.
