Big problems with Renault engines

Author of the article: , published January 29, 2014.

The second day of pre-season testing was full of various events. Racers and teams tried to collect as many test kilometers as possible, but the teams that use Renault engines did not go according to plan.

While Mercedes assembled over 200 laps with its powertrains in four race cars, the French manufacturer's engines together produced only eleven laps, and all teams with Renault's six-cylinder were annoyed by the ERS system, which generates electricity stored in batteries. . The error is said to have occurred precisely in the storage of energy, and the problem could prove catastrophic if Renault's engineers fail to rectify it soon, as the experience with the new engines on the track will be even more important this year.
