Magnussen: I guess Kvyat is crazy

As if not this season Daniil Kvyat has not caused enough problems and reasons for various rumors, he proved himself in his style again in the last race in Monaco. This time he had a collision with Renault racer Kevin Magnussen. The event was also watched by Formula 1 commissioners and Kvyata was penalized with two penalty points and a three-place move back in the next race in Montreal.

Magnussen, however, is brief: “I assume Kvyat is crazy. And obviously he was more affected by the transfer from the better to the worse Red Bull team, as he himself claimed. " Even a member of the Renault team, Frederic Vasseur, was not calm in an interview for the Autosport newspaper. “Kvyat is fucking aggressive. This time he ruined the race for Magnussen because of his aggression. His position was not significant at all, as he was two laps behind, "Vasseur explained.

However, Kvyat does not feel guilty despite the punishment. In the conversation after the race, he claimed that Magnussen blocked him, because in fact the bend before the collision was a slight touch between the two cars. “I fought on the racetrack and a few turns before, and especially at the last turn, Magnussen blocked me a lot. At the Rascasse bend I wanted to overtake him but he stood in front of me again. Because I couldn't cross the wall, it didn't go any other way, "Kvyat explained.

However, Kvyat himself admitted that he is a very aggressive driver. Basically, he says he has nothing more to lose in the current situation. He says he may have been really a little angry, but more so because he had to go back to the pits in the beginning because he thought he was going to have to change the steering wheel, but all of a sudden everything worked again. Thus his stop was unnecessary. When he was on the racetrack again he was angry and so in the 21st lap there was also a collision with Magnussen.

"I basically don't care, my race was lost anyway," Kvyat concluded. Even though Magnussen was able to drive on, he himself flew off the track a few laps after that. "Kvyat damaged my car in the collision, so it was only a matter of time before I could control the car," Magnussen said.

Apparently Magnussen will not forget this race for a long time, which is also understandable. If you fall out because of your own fault or a technical error of the race car is one thing, if you fall out because of someone else’s mistake, the disappointment is greater.
