The Lotus team announced that testing of this year's E23 race car, which will be powered by a Mercedes engine, will not start until Tuesday. Although the equipment and staff are already at the Jerez racetrack, the race car on which the last inspections were carried out at the home factory in Enston is just on its way.

“We had very little time to build the E23, as it is the most technically advanced race car we have ever made in Enston,” explained the team’s technical director, Nick Chester. "We'll send the car to the track as soon as the engineers are ready."

The E23 was first launched on Saturday, followed by inspections, dismantling the car, packing and transport.
