Jorge Lorenzo won on home soil for the third time in four years on Sunday. Second and third place went to Dani Pedrosa and Marco Marquez, and Valentino Rossi finished fourth alone. We saw as many as eight resignations in the race, among them was Cal Crutchlow, who fell in the sixth lap.

Pedrosa started his 2008th race from the best starting position, breaking Lorenzo's XNUMX lap record in the qualifiers on Saturday, but he lost the lead before the first turn and was threatened from behind by his teammate Marquez, who would the penultimate round almost fell.

Lorenzo now has 116 points in the championship, seven less than Pedrosa, but he became the first to win three races this season. It was also his 26th motogp career win, making him rise to seventh place among the most successful racers.
