The private tests that took place in Austin last week were, according to the current world champion in the royal class, very welcome and helpful. The biggest advantage of the tests, according to Lorenzot, was that they found out at what moments on the track Yamaha lagged the most compared to Honda.

In general, however, Lorenzot did not like the new racetrack the most and could not get used to it. As he says, they found optimal settings with the team the second day, but still could not compete with the first two racers. “We had the biggest problem with gripping the rear tire, which gave me a bad feeling and insecurity in corners,” Jorge added. "Testing as such was very useful"

Young Marc Marquez had virtually no serious competition in the tests, as he led smoothly all three days. His teammate Dani Pedrosa came even closer to him.
