Jorge Lorenzo has denied rumors that he and Marco Marquez have signed a pact to prevent Valentino Rossi from winning this year's title in Valencia.

Italian media published a story about a secret September meeting of Spanish racers. Prior to the race in Malaysia, Rossi accused Marquez of helping Lorenzo in a previous race in Australia. In Phillip Island, the Honda racer overtook Lorenzo with a risky maneuver in the last lap and took away his victory, and "scored" 5 points for the World Championship, as much as the difference between first and second place. Without this overtaking, Lorenzo would be only 2 points behind Rossi, which is why they do not see any logic behind the accusations in Lorenzo's team. "We officially and categorically deny everything that has been announced in the last hours regarding any kind of meeting or agreement between Jorge and Marco," they wrote in a press release.

"These allegations, which were spread by some Italian media, are ridiculous and unfounded," they added, stressing that the allegations that Lorenzo personally demanded a higher penalty for Rossi from the commissioners after the race in Malaysia were also fabricated.
