Loeb escaped Ogier

Sebastien Loeb will start the last day of the Argentina Rally with a 39.8 second lead over Sebastien Ogier. The latter made a mistake on the seventh test and punctured the tire on the next so he succumbed to fate, and announced that he would not try to catch Loeb.

The first two places have been awarded, so to speak, but this is far from being the third place. He will be beaten by the currently third-ranked Evgenij Novikov, who has only an 8.2-second advantage over Jari-Matti Latvala.

Mikko Hirvonen can only hope for the problems of someone ahead of him if he wants to advance higher than sixth place, where he fell after a flat tire and problems with the electronics of his Citroen. He is three minutes behind fifth-placed Thierry Neuville, but has a four-minute lead over Mads Ostberg in seventh place.
