The international mountain speed race on Gorjanci started today with two training runs. The third was canceled due to adverse weather conditions. In the competition of 108 vehicles, the Italian Federico Liber (Gloria C8P - EVO) was the fastest on the Gorjanci route, who was the fastest in both training runs. He set the fastest time 01: 44.580 in the 2nd run. He was followed by Czech Vaclav Janik (Norma M20FC), who was almost 6 seconds behind the fastest time Italians.

Interestingly, both two-time winners of Gorjanci Liber celebrated in 2013 and 2015, and Janik in 2012 and 2014. The best of the Slovenes in the general classification was Milan Bubnič, who was the only Slovene to run the course in less than two minutes. Italian mountain racing star Federico Liber has indicated in the best possible style that he wants to win the Gorjanci for the third time. With his prototype, he set the best time of the day on the first run for training.

In the Slovenian national championship, long before the competition, Milan Bubnič (Lancia Delta HF) was currently the leader in the overall standings. Peter Marc (Mitsubishi Lancer IX) came closest to him, but he was more than 7 seconds behind. Aljoz Udovč (Renault Clio R3) came in third.

Tomorrow promises a beautiful sunny day and a real celebration of motoring. The first run starts at 10 am, and the 2nd run is scheduled for 13 pm. All petrol vapor lovers are welcome!
