Italian Federico Liber set the fastest time in training before the Lučina mountain speed race. With a total time of 2: 07.65, he was more than a second and a half faster than the first pursuer, Vaclav Janik. The third fastest was Tiziano Riva, who was 0.14 seconds behind.
The first training run 'eliminated' only Pogačar (VW Golf MK1), who was already able to attend the second. After everything went almost smoothly, the third run served up with two longer breaks. Jure Jan (Ford Focus ST) took care of the first one right after the start, after which they had to clean the track after the oil spill. Just before the end, Laszlo Szasz (Zytek Reynard F3000) turned around, who had to settle for resignation, but some drivers did not decide to start.
In all three runs, Federico Liber was the fastest on the slightly less than 4-kilometer route from Todraž to Lučin. His agile Formula Gloria C8F (which is now owned by his friend), which does not have as many horses as its Formula 3000 competitors, has a track in Lučine. Liber claims that he wants to improve his last year's result here this year: “He is still about 3 seconds away from the track record set by Denny in 2012 (op. Cit. Zardo, 2: 04.17), who is a really great driver. "At least the Czech Vaclav Janik (Lola B02 / 50) and the Swiss Tiziano Riva (Reynard 92D), who breathed a sigh of relief for Liber in all three training runs, will certainly join the fight for the highest places. Among the fastest Slovenes, we could certainly admire one of Vladimir Stankovič's rides, but he, unfortunately, sent a check-out in the morning. Matevž Boh with the Mitsubishi Lancer EVO IX was the fastest among Slovenian drivers, followed by Davor Ivić (Nissan 200SX) and Peter Marc (Mitsubishi Lancer EVO IX).
If before the third appearance of Denis Savič today it seemed that we might be watching the tense fight of the race within the race in Division I DP tomorrow, Savič dispelled these doubts with a time of 2: 40.05, as his closest rivals were about 3 seconds slower.
