Leclerc: I want to win for Jules

Charles Leclerc said that if he races for Ferrari in the future, he wants to win the titles earned by his late friend and mentor Jules Bianchi. Monacan has a very good first part of the season behind them, in which they have scored five times in the last seven races with Sauber. With these results, the media started linking him to a transfer to Ferrari as early as the following season. Charles has been a racer at Ferrari's racing school for three years, so with his performances, switching to the Reds seems like only a matter of time. However, Leclerc was closely associated with another Ferrari racing school racer, Jules Bianchi, who died in 2015 as a result of an accident at Suzuki the year before. Bianchi was then mentioned as the successor to Kimi Raikkonen at Ferrari. Leclerc recently explained in an interview how important a role Bianchi has played in his career from the very beginning.
“He was very important. My and his father were best friends and our families were extremely connected. Jules was there when I first rode a go-kart. Then we got together every Wednesday and on the weekends and raced. These are my best memories from my entire career, it was a lot of fun and I learned a lot. ”
“He was older than me so I always wanted to beat him. These are very fond memories. But he was more than just a mentor, he was a very close friend, as part of the family. ”
Asked if racing for Ferrari would be an opportunity for him to honor Jules, he replied:
“I certainly do. He deserved this place much more than I did. If I ever have the opportunity to be there, I will do my best to win the laurels he so deserved. ”
Sebastian Vettel said at a press conference on Thursday that Leclerc is in no hurry, as he will get there one way or another.
“Charles will have a great career anyway. He’s a great guy, a fast racer, he has it all. He's in no hurry. When you are young, you are always in a hurry. ”
"I don't care who my teammate is, I know I'll be here."
