Charles Leclerc won the best starting position before the race in Monza. Lewis Hamilton will start the race next to him. The second starting line-up was occupied by Valtteri Bottas and Sebastian Vettel. The best of the rest were Renault racers Ricciardo this time ahead of Hulkenberg. Carlos Sainz will start the race from seventh place just before Alexander Albon. Lance Stroll and Kimi Raikkonen, who finished the last part prematurely after taking off from the track in the last turn, took the fifth starting line. Due to the mentioned accident, the rear part was interrupted with a red flag. The last part was marked by the confusion of the racers, who wanted to get the best possible position before the last lap by slow driving. The end result of the confusion was that everyone with the outstanding Carlos Sainz was left without a try.

As expected, both Williams racers, Sergio Perez, Romain Grosjean and Max Verstappen, who will start tomorrow's race from the last starting position due to a change of drivetrain, were eliminated in the first part. The second part was concluded by Antonio Giovinazzi, Daniil Kvyat, Kevin Magnussen, Lando Norris and Pierre Gasly.
