The race of champions has been organized since 1988 and will be on the program this season as well, but this year for the first time in Barbados. Let’s mention that the race was canceled last year, and this year it will be scheduled for December 500th and XNUMXth at Bushy Park Circuit. The title will be defended by Romain Grosjean, a Lotus Formula One racer who will fight alongside Tom Kristensen of Le Mans legend. This year's Indianapolis XNUMX winner Ryan Hunter-Reay will also join, and rallycross rider Peter Solberg will not be missing either.

Attendance was also confirmed by Susie Wolff. Susie is a former DTM Series racer and current Williams-Martini F1 team development racer. Wolff has not competed in the DTM since 2012, and even then she won only 73 points out of 4 races! Otherwise, she has only four podium finishes for winners (in the Renault UK formula series in 2003 and 2004) and no wins since her entire racing career since 2002. However, Susie is married to Mercedes AMG CEO Toto Wolff. Perhaps, however, the race is losing in importance, as it was once truly a race of champions.

Kurt Busch, the 2004 NASCAR Sprint Cup champion, who is currently racing for the Stewart-Hass Racing team, has also entered the race, winning 25 victories in the soup. Kurt won sixth place at this year's Indy 500, which he took for the first time, thus earning a ROTY honor. In addition, Busch is also a former IROC champion, a kind of cousin of the Champions Race (RoC).
