After driving in Formula One for Toyota and later for Sauber, Kamui has now become a member of Ferrari’s GT racing team. At Ferrari, he was shown the entire factory as soon as he joined the team, from the development to the construction of the race cars to the test track in Fioran. Well, it was on this track yesterday that Kobayashi was given the opportunity to drive a Ferrari Formula 1 car on the race track for the first time in his career.
After driving a 2010 Ferrari, Kamui was, of course, very pleased: “My first feelings are great. I raced against this car myself and so I know how fast it was. It was important for me to gain some experience as I last drove a Formula One car last year at a race in Brazil. Now that I'm driving in the WEC Championship with the 458 GT, everything is different, but I quickly got used to it, as I've experienced many different sports cars in the past. "
Finally, it is worth mentioning that Kobayashi will drive the said car in Moscow, as an introduction to the Formula 1 race (July 21). Kobayashi was very pleased with the test in Fioran: “I will love driving on the streets of Moscow. Thank you for this opportunity, as it will be very interesting and for the first time I will be on the track with the Ferrari race car, where Formula 1 races take place. "
