Known list of applicants for GHD Gorjanci

The organizers of the Gorjanci mountain speed race announced the list of registered racers today. This year, it is only slightly reduced, especially as far as Slovenian racers are concerned, and according to the president of the organizing committee Viktor Levec, these are objective reasons.

66 racers registered for the race in Gorjanci, thirty of them Slovenes, and the organizers believe that this was due to the busy season. This year, four races for the national championship will take place in a month.

Despite the small number of performers, it is a quality ensemble, as they also wrote on the official website of GHD Gorjanci. Eleven formulas or prototypes have been registered, and well-known and experienced racers will sit in them. One of them is Vaclav Janik, last year's winner and former European champion. The winner of the race in Ilirska Bistrica, Miloš Beneš, and Federico Liber, the winner of this year's race in Lučine, will also take part.

We can expect the highest rankings from Slovenes from Aleš Prek, Marjan Smrdelj and Milan Bubnič, and the fastest racers and racers will, of course, be accompanied by old-timers. There will be nineteen of them at the start.

At the press conference, Levec said that the SA-I sports club wanted to extend the course to Gorjanci to 5 kilometers in the coming years, provide a suitable asphalt surface and reflective fences that would increase the safety of racers and spectators. The race could thus also compete for the European Championship of Bitter Speed ​​Racing.

In the end, of course, the conversation also focused on money. Levec said that it is difficult to balance expenses and revenues, and at least a third of the income comes from spectators, so together with the director of GHD Gorjanci Sam Golobič, he invited all racing fans to watch the racing spectacle in as many numbers as possible.
